Commercial Project

Hoyts Cinema

Hamilton, New Zealand

Metro by HOYTS at Centre Place, Hamilton, is like no other cinema in New Zealand. If you blended your favourite movie house with a New York City street, it would look and feel like this.

Liquid Automation designed, supplied and installed Lighting Control, Digital Signage and Audio Distribution.

Theatre lighting has cues from the projection system to automatically set lighting scenes at the start and end of the movies.

When the fire alarm is activated, a trigger is sent from the fire alarm panel and sets all complex lights to full as well as muting the audio. Once the emergency is over, scenes can be reset via keypad located in Treasury Office.

When the security alarm is set, a trigger is sent from the security alarm panel, turning off all complex lights with the exception of lighting for exit and security lighting. After a pre determined time, the exit lighting will go off leaving only the security lighting on. Also, all audio video sources will be turned off.

If the security system is activated, a trigger is sent from the security alarm panel turning on all the complex lights to full. This will remain until either the alarm is reset or the scene is overridden by the Treasure Office keypad.

We have set up time clocks to schedule the following:

Morning Start: Typically 7:00 – 9:00am Daily

The whole complex is set to Day Scene.

Music Start: Typically 9:00am Daily

Trigger sent to background music system to start background music playing.

Night Scene: Typically 6:00pm/Sunset Daily

Whole complex is set to Night Scene excluding Cinemas.
