Liquid embarked on a comprehensive project to revamp the audio-visual and control systems of a catamaran superyacht named MOUSETRAP.
Upon the boat’s arrival at the dock, Liquid embarked on an extensive investigation of its faults, identifying and rectifying existing issues while simultaneously expanding the systems to incorporate the latest technological advancements.
This undertaking presented significant challenges due to the constrained timeframe, the substantial workload, and the limited space available within the primary AV-rack.
Liquid meticulously documented all existing connectivity, extended the cabling infrastructure, and reconstructed a newly designed systems on board. Furthermore, a novel rotatable rack was installed for the main AV-rack, and five cabin racks underwent redesign and reconstruction.
Despite the constant stream of changes, Liquid met and exceeded the challenges posed, successfully transforming the system into a high-performing and operational entity before the boat embarked on its voyage to Tahiti.
THE SYSTEM:
MOst cabins feature an independent HOME THEATRE system equipped with Apple TV, free-view, and Bluetooth connectivity.
The captain’s and engineers’ cabins are connected to the boat’s CRESTRON 16×16 DM FRAME, providing an overview and control of the vessel’s AV system.
The CRESTRON 16×16 DM FRAME manages the video routing and all AV-control functions of the boat.
The main AV-rack houses multiple video sources, including Mini-MAC, two Apple TVs, and DVDs, which can be selected from various locations. Bluetooth audio receivers are situated at the bar, lounge, and fly-bridge, offering audio selection in all zones.
The boat’s sound system comprises a Meyer Sound rig featuring multiple MM-4 speakers distributed around the vessel, supplemented by MM-10 speakers for low-end reproduction and portable speakers at the fly-bridge.
The aft-deck outdoor home theatre system offers the largest audio zone, equipped with 18 MM-4 speakers and two MM-10 speakers.
The audio system is managed by BSS London Architect, utilizing multiple sound processors strategically positioned throughout the boat.
The lounge features an AVR HOME THEATRE setup with a controlled TV lift, active front speakers, passive side, back, and sub speakers. Additional audio and video zones are available throughout the boat, including the bar, dining area, jacuzzi, and passages.
The AV system is controlled by various I-pads with customized layouts.
Liquid is responsible for controlling the lighting, shades, cameras, and other visual elements.
