Wawata Estate

Project Information:

Located on Waiheke Island, the Wawata private gated property, comprising 25 lots, has undergone a transformative transformation into a fully automated estate through the implementation of Liquid Automation’s services.

The project encompassed the meticulous development and installation of various automation systems, including Street Lighting, CCTV, and Water Access Systems.

With 25 lots strategically distributed across the entire estate, a specialised system was devised to provide each property with access to the automation capabilities offered by Liquid Automation. Consequently, a Home Automation Kit was meticulously crafted, ensuring that every lot owner gains access to these features. All systems and subsystems installed on the estate are conveniently accessible via a 7-inch LCD touch screen. Furthermore, a Crestron processor, Fibre Kit, and Water Control Gear are included as standard components.

The following systems were installed:

Smart Street Lighting

All street lighting on the estate is activated and turned on when a vehicle is on the road. Furthermore, manual control of street lighting is available from each in-house touch panel. Since the estate is situated on an island, the intelligent street lighting system particularly contributes to cost savings on ongoing estate power expenses and mitigates light pollution for neighbouring residents.

Potable Water Access

If homeowners experience water shortages on their property, it is feasible to replenish their water tanks from the estate’s desalination plant using the provided in-house touchscreens. To ensure accountability for water tank access, an integrated water control and monitoring system has been implemented. Utilising a customised billing system developed by Liquid Automation, an invoice is automatically dispatched to the respective homeowners at the end of each month.

Security

Homeowners have unrestricted access to all estate security cameras. A total of eight cameras were installed at two road gates across the estate. With three distinct camera types, it is possible to monitor vehicles and identify individuals walking. Intercom cameras additionally enable a detailed identification of individuals utilising the gate access keypad.

Gate Intercom

With 25 lots spread across the estate, not all homeowners are conveniently located near the nearest road gate to welcome guests. Consequently, homeowners have access to the video intercom with gate control via an in-house touch screen. For the gate intercom, a 2N access control system and intercom systems were selected. Homeowners and visitors can either access the estate by entering a code on the dynamic LCD touch screen or by ringing out the lot names to request entry. These gate intercom systems were chosen because they offer superior features such as high-definition cameras, speakers, a log of individuals who have accessed the estate, the ability to easily modify access codes by Liquid Automation, and the display of incognito home names instead of house numbers to maximise privacy.

Automation Extensions

These systems provide a comprehensive range of features beyond those offered in the Home Starter Kit. Homeowners can request customised automation options tailored to their specific requirements. These options may include:

  • Audio Visual

  • Lighting Control

  • Window Treatments

  • House Security

  • Irrigation

  • House Access Control
