Auckland Grammar Gym

Project Information:

Liquid Automation was chosen as the supplier of the new Auckland Grammar Gym lighting control system. Ward Chandler Electrical was the main electrical contractor and Liquid Automation provided a lighting control solution to meet the clients requirements.

The lighting control system is the Lutron LCP Softswitch. This system has all lighting circuits run directly back to the LCP panel. Keypads were placed where required and were also connected back to the LCP panel via data cable. Keypads can have 1 to 7 buttons that are programmed to perform tasks as required.

THE SYSTEM:

The main gym area consists of 6 rows of 6 luminaires, each luminaire consisting of two lamps, giving a total of 72 units. The control of all these units is made simple with buttons programmed to give lighting patterns as required.

There are two exit points that have ALL OFF key switches. This allows the person leaving to switch off all lights with confidence by simply using their key.

There is a button labeled Cleaners that will turn on all lights from the entry point, eliminating the need for cleaners to find lighting controls during the cleaning process. Should the lights be left on for any reason, the system is programmed to turn off all lights at midnight, thereby ensuring energy savings.

External lighting is operated automatically by the system running on a astrologic clock, switching lights on at sunset and off at sunrise.

All lights will be turned on in the event of an alarm activation by an intruder.
