Auckland Grammar Gym
Project Information:
Liquid Automation was selected as the supplier of the new Auckland Grammar Gym lighting control system. Ward Chandler Electrical was the primary electrical contractor, while Liquid Automation provided a lighting control solution that met the client’s requirements.
The lighting control system utilized the Lutron LCP Softswitch. This system routed all lighting circuits directly back to the LCP panel. Keypads were strategically placed and connected back to the LCP panel via data cables. These keypads could contain one to seven buttons, which were programmed to execute specific tasks as needed.
THE SYSTEM:
The primary gymnasium comprises six rows of six luminaires, each comprising two lamps, resulting in a total of 72 units. The control of these units is streamlined through buttons programmed to generate lighting patterns as per user requirements.
Two exit points feature all-off key switches, enabling individuals to extinguish all lights with assurance by simply using their key.
A designated “Cleaners” button activates all lights from the entry point, eliminating the necessity for cleaners to locate lighting controls during the cleaning process. Should the lights remain illuminated for any reason, the system is programmed to extinguish all lights at midnight, thereby optimising energy consumption.
External lighting is automatically operated by the system, powered by an astrological clock, initiating light activation at sunset and deactivation at sunrise.
All lights will be illuminated in the event of an alarm activation by an intruder.
