Aquarium Club Video Wall (Refit)
Scope
Replacement of a failed, proprietary video-wall system in the vessel’s Aquarium Club with a robust, serviceable, multi-screen platform designed for 24/7 use at sea. The new solution standardises on globally supported hardware, introduces simple playlist control for crew, and future-proofs content playback up to ultra-high resolutions.
Our Approach
Reliable core hardware: BrightSign XC-series media players driving a five-screen wall, selected for proven longevity in marine environments and multi-output flexibility.
Intuitive control: A compact rack-mounted button panel for instant scene changes, with an iPad running custom Crestron software for control of full playlist selection.
Pre-built & tested: Rack modules were fabricated, wired, labelled and fully commissioned at our Auckland facility before shipment to minimise onboard installation time and disruption.
Documentation-first: Award-winning drawings, cable schedules, and labelling ensure that any technician can service the system quickly, now and in the years ahead.
Custom Content
To bring the Aquarium Club to life, we captured original footage using a combination of a five-camera 4K array and multiple 8K cinema bodies at our partner aquarium. We also engineered a custom underwater platform carrying five synchronised 4K GoPros. Our dive team deployed and positioned the rig at a local marine reserve, allowing us to record immersive, multi-angle scenes purpose-built for the five-screen wall.
Key Outcomes
Resilient, off-the-shelf platform that’s easy for the ETO to manage
One-touch scene changes for events and guest experiences
Clean, serviceable rack design with marine-grade labelling throughout
Clear upgrade path for future displays and content pipelines
