Auckland Property

Audio Video Distribution and Control

The residence boasts an extensive audio system comprising 20 zones throughout the property, each equipped with multiple audio sources that the owners can access. Each room is equipped with an iPad, enabling individual audio control. Notably, the owner’s bedroom is furnished with an additional iPad that functions as the central control hub for the entire house. This hub grants the owner comprehensive control over audio, visual, lighting, and CCTV systems.

The property is integrated with a 4K Crestron NVX AV-over-IP Video Distribution System, which facilitates the distribution of central video sources, including satellite TV, Apple TV, and a Blu-ray player, to six distinct video zones.

Furthermore, a Crestron Sonnex Multi-room audio system has been installed to distribute audio sources encompassing audio from all video sources, as well as Denon Heos high-definition streaming music players.

To ensure comprehensive audio and video distribution control, the following control tools were strategically installed:

- 10 Crestron TSW-1060 fixed-in-wall touch-panels

- 6 Crestron TSR-310 touch-screen handheld remotes

- iPad equipped with Master Control functionality for the entire system

Lighting and Shades

Fully integrated Lutron lighting control system, encompassing over 300 switched and phase-dimmable circuits, along with DALI technology for controlling lights, heated towel rails, mirror demisters, and fireplaces.

Furthermore, 18 sets of Lutron motorised shades were installed, each programmed to move synchronously at the same speed when controlled collectively.

ICT Security and Access Control System

The property was equipped with an ICT WX Security and Access Control system, comprising 18 controlled doors and gates, 8 alarm areas, and 48 monitored inputs (PIR sensors, reed switches, and lock statuses).

A suite of control modules for Crestron integration into ICT WS systems via IP was developed to provide comprehensive control of the alarm and doors from clients’ Crestron interfaces. This includes lock/unlock/unlock latched controls for doors and monitoring the status of each door. Additionally, when an alarm area is armed, the system automatically shuts down all AV equipment in that area, along with the lighting.

HVAC Control

This project incorporates integration with a third-party HVAC control system utilising BACNET. Liquid Automation was responsible for controlling 18 underfloor heating zones and 4 air conditioning zones.

Through Creston touch panels, users can easily toggle the occupancy status of a zone. When a zone is set to unoccupied, the air conditioning unit is deactivated, and the underfloor heating setpoint is reduced to a level that ensures minimal heating time upon resetting to occupied.

Heating and Seasonal Modes

This project employs a substantial hot water pump system that serves both the pool and the hydronic underfloor heating system in the primary lodge.

From the Crestron Touch-panels, users have the option to prioritise this hot water for either the Pool Mode or the House Mode, or completely deactivate it if no pool heating or underfloor heating is necessary.

Additionally, we have incorporated seasonal mode controls that establish global setpoints for all underfloor heating zones. These setpoints are set to 24°C during winter mode, 22°C during summer mode, and 20°C when the unoccupied mode is activated.

Pool and Spa Control

Via the same BACNET interface mentioned above, it is possible to control and status for the pool and spa from the Crestron Touch-panels.
For the pool, the owner can set the desired setpoint for the water temperature, view the current water temperature, and view the running status of the two pool pumps.
