Audio Video Distribution and Control

The house has 20 zones of audio throughout the house with multiple sources of audio that the owners can listen to. iPads located in each room of the house allow to individually control the audio. Additionally, the owner’s bedroom is equipped with an additional iPad that serves as the Master Control for the whole house. With the master control the owner can control audio/visual, lighting control, CCTV, etc.

The property was fitted with a 4K Crestron NVX AV-over-IP Video Distribution System to distribute central video sources such as Satellite TV, Apple TV’s and a Blu-ray Player, to six video zones.

Additionally, a Crestron Sonnex Multi-room audio system was provided to distribute audio sources consisting of audio from all video sources, as well as Denon Heos high-definition streaming music players.

To control the audio and video distribution, the following control tools were installed:

  • 10x Crestron TSW-1060 fixed in-wall touch-panels

  • 6x Crestron TSR-310 Touch-screen Handheld Remotes

  • iPad with Master Control of the entire system

Lighting and Shades

Fully integrated Lutron lighting control system with over 300 loads of switched and phase dimmed circuits plus DALI to control lights, heated towel rails, mirror demisters and fireplaces.

Additionally, 18 sets of Lutron motorized shades were installed, all programmed to move in-sync at the same speed when controlled together.

ICT Security and Access Control System

The property was fitted with an ICT WX Security and Access Control system that consists of 18 x Controlled Doors and Gates, 8x Alarm Areas and 48x monitored inputs (PIR’s, Reed Switches & Lock Statuses).

A suite of control modules for Creston to integrate to ICT WS systems via IP was developed to provide extensive control of the alarm and doors from the clients Crestron interfaces including lock/unlock/unlock latched controls for doors and monitoring the status of each door. Further, when an alarm area is armed, we have automated the shutdown of all the AV in those areas, as well as the lighting in that area to turn off.

HVAC Control

In this project there is integration to a 3rd party’s HVAC control system via BACNET.
Liquid Automation provided control of 18x underfloor heating zones and 4x Air Conditioning zones.

Via the Creston touch-panels, a user can put a zone into an occupied or unoccupied state.
When a zone is set to unoccupied, the AC is turned off and the UFH setpoint is lowered to a level where that is maintained so that it does not take too long to heat up again when set back to occupied.

Heating and Seasonal Modes

This project utilises a large hot water pump system that is used to heat the pool as well as the hydronic underfloor heating in the main lodge.
From the Crestron Touch-panels, a user can choose to prioritize this hot water for Pool Mode or House Mode, or turn off completely if no pool heating or underfloor heating is required.
We also provided seasonal mode controls that set global setpoints for all the underfloor heating zones. 24°C when winter mode is set, 22°C when summer mode is set, and 20°C when the unoccupied mode is set.

Pool and Spa Control

Via the same BACNET interface mentioned above, it is possible to control and status for the pool and spa from the Crestron Touch-panels.
For the pool, the owner can set the desired setpoint for the water temperature, view the current water temperature, and view the running status of the two pool pumps.
