Key Highlights:

  • System Components:

The Mahoenui Mansion incorporates meticulously curated, globally recognised components to guarantee exceptional performance and durability. Notably, Crestron, Sonance, and OVRC are among the selected brands, renowned for their unwavering reliability and seamless integration. The system boasts intuitive Apple-based controls, concealed ceiling speakers, centralised remote monitoring capabilities, and integrated support for lighting, HVAC, intercom, and security systems.

  • Audio-Visual System:

The audio-visual system has been redesigned to provide an exceptional entertainment experience throughout the property. Existing speakers were retained whenever feasible, and the system now supports SONOS streaming, Apple TV, Sky TV, and smart TV applications. Additionally, six 65-inch 4K screens with motorised lifters have been installed in various rooms, including the lounge, master bedroom, and guest cottage.

  • Control:

Centralised control is achieved through Apple iPads mounted on wireless charging docks throughout the residence, which are complemented by the Crestron App for managing audio, lighting, HVAC, intercom, and security systems. Furthermore, Samsung TV remotes facilitate AV functions through CEC integration. Custom antique designer touch panels, fixed in high-traffic areas, ensure prompt access to essential controls even when portable devices are unavailable.

As part of the system upgrade, all light switches were replaced with custom antique designer units. This technical accomplishment seamlessly integrates the charm and character of legacy switchgear with contemporary Crestron-compatible lighting controls. The integration necessitated meticulous engineering to ensure reliable communication between modern automation technology and vintage-style hardware, thereby preserving the home’s classic aesthetic while maintaining functionality.

  • Audio Video Server:

The system seamlessly integrates with modern AV sources, including SONOS, Sky TV, Apple TV, smart TV applications, and internet radio. This robust integration enables the distribution of audio and video streams throughout the property, ensuring uniformity and user convenience from any room.

  • Visual:

Multiple high-resolution 4K TVs are installed throughout the mansion, including concealed units with lifters in the lounge, master suite, and guest areas. Video distribution is handled via advanced AV matrix systems, allowing flexible content access in all areas.

  • Audio:

Comprehensive audio coverage is now available throughout the property, utilising existing in-ceiling speakers and subwoofers. This includes the health spa, gym, kitchen, garden room, library, and children’s lounge, which have all benefited from upgraded amplification and SONOS zone control. Additionally, new sub-amps have been installed in key spaces to deliver deeper, richer bass.

  • Intercom:

The intercom system is seamlessly integrated into the home’s smart control platform, facilitating seamless communication and access management. Three key entry points—two main entrances and a dedicated staff entry—are now connected to the system via Crestron touch panels and mobile devices. Residents can directly view and respond to visitors from any in-wall panel or iPad, regardless of whether they are inside the home or managing access remotely. This setup enhances both convenience and security, offering clear visibility over all access points without the need for separate systems or applications.

  • Automation:

The residence is equipped with comprehensive automation features, encompassing lighting, climate control, access, and audio-visual automation. Intercom communication, lighting presets, HVAC adjustments, and AV switching are all seamlessly integrated and accessible via a singular, unified interface.

  • Features:

    • Apple AirPlay 2 Compatibility Across All Zones

    • App-based control with real-time status feedback.

    • Offsite monitoring with alerting for equipment faults or network issues.

    • Dedicated remote access PC for live support and system updates.

    • Smart grouping of audio zones from mobile devices without third-party applications.

    • Fully documented structured cabling and AV schematics provided upon completion.
