Audio / Visual Distribution

The audio/visual system consists of 7 x AV zones including a 6.1 zone in the Children’s Lounge and 2 x audio only zones. The main living room features Sonance invisible speakers with a subwoofer placed discreetly out of view to provide an aesthetically pleasing installation for this area.

Lighting Control

Lighting Control is via Lutron, providing all the main living areas and outdoor areas with lighting control. This is integrated into the Savant and other systems providing the client with minimal interfaces around the home.

The lighting control system recalls favourite settings and effortlessly transforms the light in the home. There are multiple lighting keypads around the house, with each button specifying different ‘scenes’ in that area to control.

• Control includes timers and occupancy/vacancy sensors for added convenience, to automatically control lights and fans upon entry/exit of an area.

• Astronomical Clock – Controls lighting scenes and levels depending on the time of evening/night – e.g. 70% at 10pm and 30% at 1am.

• Complete system logging for any changes or faults that could occur.

Security & Access Control

This home has a full Security System including Access Control on the main front door and garage side door. The Security system incorporates both intrusion detection and smoke/heat detection.

This is complimented with a 4 Camera CCTV System and Gate Intercom all being integrated with Savant. The video feed from the cameras can be viewed on any of the remotes, iPads or iPhones in the system.

Network

A full data network was installed including Ruckus Wireless Access Points. As all the systems rely on network connectivity, a robust wired and wireless network was essential.

The Ruckus wireless system also provides a seamless wireless network with the ability to keep the “House” network private while providing a “Guest” network which only allows internet access. This security feature keeps all of the “House” network devices private and secure from users of the guest network.

In addition to this, there is a VPN Router/Firewall. This provides remote access for support to the network system for access to the Savant, Lighting Control, CCTV systems and also gives access for remote programming changes and troubleshooting.

Pool Control

The pool cover cannot cover the pool while the water is going over the infinity edge, so a system was designed to lower the water level of the pool to enable the cover to extend. Thus, the Kitchen touch panel has a button that empties the pool enough into a holding tank so the cover, via the control system, can be closed.

When it needs to be retracted, an Open button can be pressed either on the Kitchen touch panel or the Cabana keypad. When it is fully retracted, a custom position switch activates, initiating the holding tank to fill the pool back up to swimming level. All this control is carried out through the Lutron system which integrates with the Savant.
