S/Y Hemisphere

44.2m (145ft)
Project Location: Cospicua, Malta

On-board Hemisphere there is Crestron control of the Audio/Visual system, Security System, Blinds and Lutron Lighting in the following locations: Solon, Aft Deck, Guest Cabins, Fly bridge, Captain’s Cabin, Galley and Crew Mess. This runs on our enterprise grade Wi-Fi network throughout, with a robust backbone of HP layer 3 switches.

The system allows users to select from a large selection of Audio and Video sources instantly with no switching delay, including zone specific and global sources. Enjoy Wi-Fi internet across the boat and multiple media streaming devices for uses to play content from their own devices.

Remote access allows troubleshooting and resolution of any issues if they arise. Engineers at Liquid Automation will also receive email alerts of temperature events, if any equipment in the AV system goes offline or if equipment responds abnormally.

Control

Crestron — with multiple processors and 7x touch panels and 3x in-wall touch panels.

Separate VLAN’s for separating Control, Guest, Crew and Media traffic across the network, managed Wi-Fi to allow users to walk around the boat freely without dropping off Wi-Fi.

Audio Video Server

There are 8 Kaleidescape high definition movie/music players with 32TB of usable storage at launch. These 8 players will be distributed to 9 audio/video zones and 3 audio only zones.

Audio/Visual

At the heart of the Video distribution is a 32×32 Crestron Digital Media Matrix, providing 27 inputs of audio and video, and 10 outputs to local devices.

The available sources include 2x 4th gen Apple TV’s, 2 Chromecast’s, 8x Kaleidescape Players, Oppo Blu-ray Player, Game Console, Local HDMI input in the TV room, Local AUX input in the Solon, Bluetooth receiver in the Galley, CCTV grid, 2x Satellite TV Decoders and Navigation.

If a source is in use, the touch panel will display which zone is currently using that source and remove control of that device until the original user turns off their zone or changes source.

Security

Two security cameras on the Aft deck, two in the Engine Room and one Colour PTZ / Thermal camera on the mast. Live indication of deck sensors, PIR trips and door/hatch open/close status’s are on touch panels in the crew areas of the boat.

Lighting

Conversion of entire lighting control system from a legacy system to new a Lutron QS system. Halogen and incandescent light fittings throughout the vessel were replaced with LED equivalents and transformers. All lighting scenes were reconfigured to allow for new LED’s and their different dimming characteristics. The new Lutron QS system allows for control of all lights from an easy to use iPad or iPhone app, giving the crew a quick way to control individual circuits or whole areas for maintenance or troubleshooting purposes.
