S/Y Hemisphere

44.2m (145ft)
Project Location: Cospicua, Malta

The Hemisphere on-board features Crestron control for the Audio/Visual system, Security System, Blinds, and Lutron Lighting in the following locations: Solon, Aft Deck, Guest Cabins, Fly Bridge, Captain’s Cabin, Galley, and Crew Mess. This system operates on our enterprise-grade Wi-Fi network throughout, supported by a robust backbone of HP Layer 3 switches.

Users can instantly select from a wide range of Audio and Video sources without any switching delays, including zone-specific and global sources. Enjoy Wi-Fi internet access throughout the vessel and multiple media streaming devices for playing content from personal devices.

Remote access enables troubleshooting and resolution of any issues that may arise. Engineers at Liquid Automation receive email alerts for temperature events, equipment outages, and abnormal responses from the AV system.

Control

Crestron, equipped with multiple processors, seven touch panels, and three in-wall touch panels, offers a comprehensive network solution.

Dedicated VLANs are implemented to segregate Control, Guest, Crew, and Media traffic, ensuring optimal network performance. A managed Wi-Fi network is provided, enabling users to move freely throughout the vessel without experiencing connectivity issues.

Audio Video Server

At launch, eight Kaleidescape high-definition movie/music players will be distributed to nine audio/video zones and three audio-only zones. Each player will be equipped with 32TB of usable storage.

Audio/Visual

At the core of the Video Distribution system lies a 32x32 Crestron Digital Media Matrix, capable of processing 27 audio and video inputs and providing 10 outputs to local devices.

The system’s available sources encompass two 4th-generation Apple TVs, two Chromecast devices, eight Kaleidescape Players, an Oppo Blu-ray player, a gaming console, a local HDMI input in the TV room, a local AUX input in the Solon, a Bluetooth receiver in the Galley, a CCTV grid, two satellite TV decoders, and a navigation system.

When a source is in active use, the touch panel will display the zone currently utilizing that source, effectively disabling control of that device until the original user deactivates their zone or switches to a different source.

Security

Two security cameras are positioned on the aft deck, two in the engine room, and one Colour PTZ/Thermal camera is mounted on the mast. Live indications of deck sensors, PIR motion detection, and door/hatch open/close statuses are displayed on touch panels in the crew areas of the vessel.

Lighting

Comprehensive Conversion of Lighting Control System

The entire lighting control system, previously operated by a legacy system, has been transitioned to a new Lutron QS system. Halogen and incandescent light fittings throughout the vessel have been replaced with LED equivalents and transformers. All lighting scenes have been reconfigured to accommodate the new LED fixtures and their unique dimming capabilities. The Lutron QS system enables seamless control of all lights via an intuitive iPad or iPhone application. This empowers the crew to swiftly manage individual circuits or entire areas for maintenance and troubleshooting operations.
